This new group began meeting in March, 2018 to bring SURJ to central Contra Costa County (there is already a very active group in Oakland). The group meets monthly on the second Saturday of each month. SURJ aims to educate and mobilize white people (in particular) to become effective allies to people of color. Meetings are open to anyone in the community, and include getting to know each other, learning about racial justice issues, and taking action for positive change.
