Richard Cionco has been performing as a soloist in performances since age 9, and has been featured in numerous prestigious events around the globe, such as the Seijo Symphony of Tokyo Concert in Washington, D.C., a concert that commemorated Japan’s admission to the United Nations. Reviews from the Washington Post say, “I have rarely heard as fine a piano recital as the one Richard Cionco gave. Cionco’s virtuosity was impressive and he drew beautifully varied tone colors from the instrument.” and “Richard Cionco is not just a terrific pianist. He is that rarest of artists: a champion of twentieth century music.“ A graduate of The Juilliard School and the University of Maryland, Richard Cionco was a Teaching Fellow for David Dubal at The Juilliard School for four years, and is presently Professor of Piano at California State University, Sacramento.

At St. Paul’s, Richard will perform his piano solo program "Trifles, Tragedy, and Triumph!", including Beethoven’s Six Bagatelles, Lecuona’s Andalucia – Suite Espagnole, Janáček’s Sonata in E-flat minor, Chopin’s My Joys and Liszt’s Waltz from the Opera “Faust”.
