The Martinez Historical Society invites you to visit six interesting homes and gardens in Martinez, most of which were built in the area where the Christian Brothers maintained their vineyard prior to 1932. The majority of the homes were constructed in the 1920s. Homeowners or docents will be on hand to point out interesting features of these houses. All the homes are unique and noteworthy in some way.

Also on the Tour is the St. Catherine of Siena Church and School. The Church was built in 1940 to replace the earlier 1868 building. The Shell Refinery Museum will also be on the Tour. The Martinez Museum is on the Tour too -- and there will be a new exhibit on the floor entitled "Politics and Patriots". The Tour will also include special exhibits, booths, musicians and antique cars parked in front of the homes.

Shuttle buses with tour guides will take you on the Tour. You can also drive your car if you wish. And if you have no mobility problems, you can walk the route. Hours are from 10 am to 4 pm, but start early enough to allow 2+ hours for the Tour -- which begins at the Shell Clubhouse. The Clubhouse was constructed in 1937 in the Arts & Crafts style. It is located at 1635 Pacheco Blvd in Martinez. The Diablo Regional Concert Band will be playing on the front lawn.
