Diablo Symphony celebrates holidays

The Snowman silent movie with live soundtrack; holiday musical favorites, plus sing-a-long with Tri-Valley Theatre’s Broadway Chorus

The Diablo Symphony Orchestra, joined by the Tri-Valley Theatre’s Broadway Chorus, presents its annual Holiday Concert at the Diablo Valley College Performing Arts Center at 2:00 pm on Saturday, Dec 15 and Sunday, Dec 16 Conducted by Matilda Hofman, the Symphony will perform Howard Blake’s beautiful soundtrack during showings of the classic British silent movie The Snowman originally introduced by David Bowie. Other favorites include Skaters’ Waltz by Waldteufel, Sleigh Ride by Anderson, Candles and Dreidels, medley for orchestra and chorus, Holiday Quick-step by Ives, and Slavic Christmas Music by Stokowski. Audience sing-alongs will round out each performance. Ticket prices are $35 for adults and $10 for Youth 13-17; children 12 and under are free but require a ticket. Tickets will also be available at the door.
