We Are the Nation - A Tribute to Veterans
Concert highlights include Richard Rodgers's stirring Victory at Sea, an enduring suite of music, created from the score for the imaginative and groundbreaking 1952 NBC documentary series.
Then, with special permission to appear in uniform, the orchestra's own Technical Sergeant Dan Olivas will sing Ralph Vaughan Williams's Songs of Travel. It is widely believed that much of Rodgers's inspiration for Victory at Sea came from Vaughan Williams's early compositions.
The orchestra will also perform the poignant Hymn to the Fallen from the film "Saving Private Ryan" by John Williams, the rousing American Salute by Morton Gould, Esprit de Corps by Robert Jager, Spitfire, Prelude and Fugue by William Walton, and English Dances by Malcolm Arnold.
As a demonstration of gratitude, tickets for our Sunday Lesher performance will be reduced to $10 for veterans, where tickets are normally $30 for adults and $20 for seniors. Veterans may take advantage of this discount by using discount code "NATION" when placing their orders.
$30 for adults and $20 for seniors. Veterans mention 'Nation' - tickets $10.
