John V. Robinson's new book "Bay Area Iron Master Al Zampa: A Life of Building Bridges"
The Contra Costa County Historical Society is hosting an Open House and Speaker Program featuring award-winning photographer and writer John V. Robinson. John will talk about his newest book "Bay Area Iron Master Al Zampa: A Life Building Bridges" and his 1995 interview with the famed bridge builder.
John began his study of bridge builders in 1995 by interviewing the famed bridge builder Alfred Zampa. Zampa was one of the first to survive a fall from the Golden Gate Bridge, making him a founding member of the Half Way to Hell Club in 1936.
Following John's talk will be tours of the County archives. Take advantage of this special opportunity to see how CCCHS preserves delicate records and special collections.
