Guitarist Jason Vieaux in World Premiere with California Symphony

Grammy-winning guitar virtuoso Jason Vieaux gives the world premiere of composer Dan Visconti's guitar concerto Living Language with the California Symphony in two performances led by Music Director Donato Cabrera. The concerts also include Brahms' Symphony No. 2 and Philip Glass' Company for String Orchestra. Commissioned by the California Symphony, Living Language follows Devil's Strum, a blues-infused work for solo guitar that Visconti wrote for Vieaux in 2010, which Vieaux has performed widely. Richmond Symphony, Reading Symphony, and Fort Wayne Philharmonic have also scheduled future performances of Living Language. Gramophone magazine puts Jason Vieaux "among the elite of today's classical guitarists" and The Baltimore Sun writes he is "a substantially gifted guitarist whose playing revealed equal portions of stylistic elegance and technical polish." Jason's most recent solo album, Play, won the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. $42 to $72. Presented by California Symphony
