Mount Diablo Invasive Species Team

Join us for an exciting work day focusing on environmental conservation in the park. We will work on containing a new infestation of fennel and other invasive species near Green Ranch Road, high up on Mount Diablo. These invasive species are a threat to Mount Diablo's vulnerable native plant communities, which include several plants that are "endemic" to the Mount Diablo area-- meaning that they're found nowhere else in the world! Our work site is located high up on the mountain, and the views of the surrounding valleys should be spectacular. Meet at the Oak Knoll Picnic Area off Summit Road. FREE CAMPING is available Friday, August 19 - Sunday, August 21. RSVP: [email protected].
