A Bay Area Spa Favorite: Spa Vitale’s Signature Bathing Ritual

Feb 18, 2017 09:40AM ● By Fran Miller

Busy Bay Area residents have a multitude of tension-relieving spa options to help ease daily stresses, from in & out reflexology stations to luxe day spas. One of our favorite treatments takes place high above the San Francisco skyline where Bay views, ambient city sounds, and warm waters combine to provide therapeutic rest and relaxation. Spa Vitale’s Signature Bathing Ritual is a spa treatment like no other. This service – their most popular - entails a lavender and floral salts-infused hot bath within a hidden rooftop bamboo garden. The juxtaposition of tranquility and urban cacophony is pure magic. Enjoy an herbal beverage and fresh fruit as you bask in the atmospheric elements. Soak away eye tension with cucumber slices and a cool cloth. Mixed with the background sounds of the city, the bathing ritual provides a unique feeling of security and serenity that cleanses your soul and calms your spirit. $85 for 25 minutes, and $170 for 50 minutes, the Signature Bathing Ritual can be enjoyed as a singular treatment, or as a prelude to one of the spa’s other treatments. In concert with a signature massage, for instance, the combo makes for an unbelievalby relaxing experience.

Spa Vitale’s postage stamp sized spa, located on the penthouse floor of Joie de Vivre's Hotel Vitale might not have the bells and whistles of other hotel spas, but skyline and Bay Bridge views, combined with a calm, Zen-like atmosphere, more than make-up for the lack of steam-room, sauna, or shower facilities. And, like everything else in life, it’s all about location, location, location. Enjoy a post-spa cocktail at the hotel’s popular Americano Restaurant & Bar, or pop over to the Ferry Building just across the street to gather the gourmet ingredients for your dinner. Everything in one place – that’s our definition of relaxation.
