Santa’s Rosa’s Flamingo Hotel Has An Irresistible Vibe

This newly renovated Santa Rosa landmark has been reborn with vibrant décor and contemporary charm. Located in the heart of the city near boutique shops, craft breweries, and more than 200 wineries, the iconic 1957 motor lodge received a major makeover emerging with a transformed lobby, indoor-outdoor restaurant lanai, and retro furnishings within its 170 rooms. Concrete floors, soothing paint colors, and natural wood headboards provide a simple backdrop for works by local artisans and a sanctuary for remote work or a weekend getaway.

At the heart of this tucked away oasis is a stunning pool where hotel guests and locals mingle over craft cocktails like the Angry Bird—a delicious mix of tequila, aloe vera liqueur, hellfire bitters, and agave. Smash burgers and buddha bowls are served poolside during the day, while at dinner the Flamingo’s Lazeaway Club dishes up a tasty, locally sourced Cal-Pacific menu featuring everything from edamame dip and mahi mahi ceviche to shaking steak and tamarind roasted chicken.

Family and pet-friendly, activities in the area include canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, redwood ziplining, bike riding, and touring local farms. On your drive home, make sure to stop in Sebastopol and visit The Barlowe—a 12-acrea open-air marketplace filled with places to eat and drink, plus local art and crafts made by Sonoma County artisans.
