Las Lomas Wins Division 1 Championship

In a season defined by skill and spirit, the Las Lomas Knights Varsity Men’s basketball team took home the NCS Division 1 title Saturday night beating out rival Palo Alto and clearing the last hurdle to reach the state final Friday in Sacramento against Chino Hills.

Their 31-3 game season record reflects the talent and timing of a team who have been playing ball together since middle school. Add to that coaches who push, inspire, and grind them on to perfection, plus a passion for the sport that has ignited a fire and it’s a winning strategy.

At the center of it all is the Las Lomas cheer section, dubbed “The Goon Squad,” who have carried their voices loud and proud over every last buzzer, showing up to each game with an unending sense of loyalty. Knowing they were witnessing something extraordinary, parents supported the team and packed the gym’s bleachers for every game. These young men have ignited the heart of our community and made our city proud.

Now for the first time in Las Lomas history, they are going to play in the state finals. And give us all another chance to yell with a new sense of pride, “GO, KNIGHTS!”
