Fun Things to do for Halloween

HOWL-OOO-WEEN! Trick or treat with real creatures at an evening of mad fun for little ghosts and goblins. Come in costume (if you dare!) get your face painted, listen to spooky stories, and meet some creepy crawly friends and not-so-scary animals. CALLING ALL GHOULS AND GOBLINS! And princesses and superheroes! Downtown Walnut Creek invites you to creep through the streets and gather up goodies from local businesses. October 27, 2:00-5: 00 pm, starting location Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 N. Civic Drive, www.walnutcreekdowntown.com.

Bring your little ones to Broadway Plaza for a very cool COMMUNITY HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT on  October 31, 5:30-7: 00 pm, www.broadwayplaza.com.

BOO AT THE ZOO in costume and collect yummy treats. Ride the spooky boo train and join the dance party. Get your face painted and find out how the animals at Oakland Zoo celebrate Halloween. CREATURES OF THE NIGHTLIFE revel in a carnival of curiosities and chilling art, as well as DJ beats and drinks at Cal Academy's Halloween-themed event this week. 6-10pm, Golden Gate Park, SF, calacademy.org.

DRAKE celebrates Halloween this year at San Francisco’s City Hall at Civic Center. Costumes, food, drinks and special performances. October 26, 10pm-2am, tickets ($99 general admission, VIP starting at $149) at eventbrite.com.
