Fresh off receiving a coveted eight Forbes Travel Guide stars, Bernardus Lodge & Spa in Carmel Valley, California announces its 20th anniversary with a roll-out of platinum-inspired cocktails, luxury guest packages, and the resort’s 20th Anniversary, Grand Tasting & Craftsman Exchange event set on October 27. Debuting in 1999 on 28 acres of sweeping vines and lavender, the lodge underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation in 2015 and launched Lucia Restaurant & Bar under Chef Stamenov.

The ever-popular Craftsman's Exchange takes on a platinum patina this year with a line-up of iconic purveyors on the lodge’s tournament-size Croquet lawn pouring fine wines and dishing decadent tastes.  Stamenov's Lucia kitchen has been a luminous launchpad for a variety of area chefs mentored over the past two decades who will be joining his team at the event, including Tim Wood/Carmel Valley Ranch, Ben Spungin/Alta Bakery, Matt Bolton/Intercontinental The Clement Monterey, Jerry Regester/Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa, and Jerome Viel/Carmel Valley Market. Artisanal partners will tempt with sips and samples from Delamotte Champagne, Bernardus Winery, Newport Meats, Swank Farms, Sciabica Olive Oil, Earthbound Farms and Morro Bay Oyster Company.

Afterward, slip into the sanctuary of a spacious villa for a romantic escape. Steeped in luxury, suites are designed with free-standing soaking tubs for two and a full pantry of complimentary wines and snacks.
