Mother's Day Sweets, Brunch, & Dinner To-Go

Dining destinations all over town are whipping up special menus and decadent desserts for Mother’s Day, May 10. Here, we rounded up a few, and if you really want to make her day, hit a local farmers’ market, and grab a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Le Gâteau Élégant: Pastry Chef Karen Del Bonta and her team have a lineup of cookies, cupcakes, and macarons to order online for curbside pickup. Mix-and-match to sweeten up the day.

Boudin: San Francisco’s quintessential meal is on the weekend menu here. Caesar salad, pasta, sourdough, and cracked crab for four $198. Add a bottle of crisp Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay for $25. Call to preorder.

Lottie’s Creamery: Leave it to this artisanal ice cream parlor to take breakfast in bed to another level. Limited-edition flavors in a 3-pint package ($30): mimosa, French toast custard, lemon curd, and biscuit. Call to preorder.

The Greenery: Brunch boxes come filled with honey baked ham, salmon piccata, or New York steak. Cheesy garlic mashers, roasted veggies, feta pasta salad, and pastries served on the side. $95, feeds 4-5, preorder, and pickup.

Sunrise Bistro: Chef Ty Pearson and his crew are dishing up a dreamy brunch. Fresh cinnamon rolls, four types of quiche, fruit, and salmon goddess Caesar, plus a chocolate-dipped strawberry for mom. Serves 4, $80, order ahead.

All-Star Donuts: This popular sweet spot is dishing up donuts, of course. Treat her to an assorted box of goodies in bed with a steaming mocha latte.

Scott’s Seafood: Petit filet and lobster, salmon, and parmesan-crusted chicken star on the prix fixe menu. $70-$90 per person, served with sides, and mom gets a long stem rose. Order ahead for curbside pickup.

Walnut Creek Yacht Club: Swing by for brunch to-go and serve 4-6 spring salad, chilled California king salmon, mushroom spinach frittata, honey-cured bacon, cottage fries, and Ellen's strawberry shortcake. $200, order ahead.

Buttercup Diner: Family-style fried chicken dinner ($40) comes boxed to go with fresh vegetables, mashers, and a chocolate-dipped strawberry for mom. Add a banana crème or peanut butter pie to your order ($18.95). Order ahead, pick it up.

54 Mint: Lavish your mama with a feast of Bolognese or vegetarian lasagna ($60), insalata di avocado ($35), tiramisu ($30), and a bottle of sparkling brut rose’($30). Menu feeds 6-8, order ahead.
