W San Francisco Treats Guests, And Their Pets, To Spectacular Suites

Sep 19, 2022 06:00PM ● By Pam Kessler

There’s a difference between hotels that allow dogs and hotels that encourage them. Plenty of places will let you bring your pooch for a fee. But only a few places welcome Fido with open arms, plus special doggie treats, a leash, and plush suites.

The W San Francisco is so head-over-heels for your hounds, not only does it boast swanky accommodations for you and your dog, the hotel's new "Spectacular Studio" suites are outfitted with private patio structures perfect for pampering pets. Designed by Skylab Architecture, the tented structures extend the W’s studio suites into a peaceful oasis for lounging on the terrace in modern comfort.

Around the hotel you’ll find a lobby bar for bites and cocktails, and the restaurant TRACE for shakushuka and chilaques at breakfast. There’s no better location to pop over to Union Square for a new handbag or to enjoy an afternoon concert at Yerba Buena Gardens

A short distance from the hotel sits the historic Ferry Building. You can't find a better to place to roam and experience Northern California's celebrated artisan food scene. Eat lunch by the water at Hog Island Oyster Company or get a burger from Gott's to savor on the patio. Grab gourmet meatballs, lamb candies, and chicken jerky for your dog at Mishka and a cupcake from Miette to relish on a bench viewing the Bay Bridge. The Ferry Building hosts a farmers' market on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, where you can shop for fresh fruit and cheese to take back to your hotel room.
