The Westin St. Francis Has Designed A Magical Season

Nov 19, 2022 06:52PM ● By Pam Kessler

Situated on Union Square—steps  away from world-class shopping, dining, and performing arts—The Westin St. Francis is celebrating the holidays with everything from a magnificent Sugar Castle to a decadent buffet Breakfast with Santa and a chic champagne bar.

Arguably the best location downtown, there’s much to discover at this acclaimed property, where a fusion of classic and contemporary style welcomes guests to luxurious rooms and suites. Since 1904, generations of hoteliers have continued to expand the property, while maintaining its architectural history.

Four-legged friends are treated like family, fitness seekers can workout in a 6,000-square-foot studio, and wine lovers can pop a cork in the champagne bar, Chateau Montelena Tasting Room, and ENO Wine Bar, or Michael Mina’s CLOCK BAR.

Holiday festivities begin November 23 at 11am when Executive Pastry Chef, Jean-François Houdré unveils his spectacular 12-foot high Sugar Castle in The Westin St. Francis Landmark Lobby.

Resembling a French Chateau, Houdrés Sugar Castle features 20 grand circular towers, and 30 rooms surrounded by a village and a moving train. At 1300 pounds, the remarkable sculpture rivals royal castles from centuries ago, while visions of sugarplums come to life in the nearby Sweet Boutique complete with gingerbread “Castle Bites” and Parisian macarons.

Other holiday offerings include breakfast with Santa and elegant holiday teas accompanied by tea sandwiches, petit fours, and freshly baked scones. Book the Macy’s Shopping Package for a $100 gift card at the West Coast’s largest Macy’s and a night in comfort at The Westin St. Francis. Rates start at $279, valid through January 2, 2023, westinstfrancis.com.
