Smuin Ballet Presents "Tupelo Tornado"
Experience Smuin Contemporary Ballet's electrifying new piece,
"Tupelo Tornado," inspired by the life and music of Elvis Presley,
May 24-25 in Walnut Creek. The world premiere from superstar choreographer,
Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, closes the company’s 30th Anniversary Season with a
vibrant dance set to the iconic tunes of the King of Rock & Roll. Also on
the bill is Amy Seiwert’s Broken Open, set to a lush score, and Michael Smuin’s Starshadows,
exploring the beauty of intimate relationships.
Dive into the dazzling nightclub scene of 1920s Berlin with Center Rep's production of the Tony Award-winning musical, "Cabaret," running from May 26 to June 23. This celebrated Broadway hit revives the provocative and tumultuous era before the rise of the Nazi Party. with exciting choreography and a memorable score.
Re-Discovering Native America: Bedford Gallery

works by acclaimed Native American artists, Bedford Gallery’s current
exhibition highlights the vibrant narratives and transformative changes
happening within Indigenous communities across the country. Don't miss the

Choreographed by Brian Enos, Diablo Ballet’s captivating
performance of Russian folk tale, The Firebird, lights up the stage May
17-18. The dance program also features "4 in the Morning"
by renowned choreographer Val Caniparoli, and Gerald Arpino's beloved "Pas
de Deux from Light Rain," staged by Tom Mossbrucker. The show marks a spectacular culmination of the company’s 30th Anniversary Season.
