BLACK JOY PARADE

Celebrate Black History Month at the 7th Annual Black Joy Parade in Downtown Oakland. Billed as a "hyper-positive, family-friendly event that celebrates the Black experience and the Black community's contribution to cultures past, present and future," the all-day festival kicks-off with a parade down Broadway, followed by live music, food, and crafts from hundreds of local vendors. 11:30am, February 25. Parade begins at 14th Street & Franklin.


 

CHINESE NEW YEAR PARADE

The biggest Lunar New Year parade outside of Asia, San Francisco’s world-famous Chinese New Year Parade lights up the city with lion dancers, firecrackers and thousands of attendees. Year of the Dragon festivities also include a community street fair. 5:00pm, February 24, San Francisco.


 

TREASUREFEST

Take a trip halfway across the Bay Bridge to welcome back TreasureFest. The monthly festival returns to Treasure Island celebrating all things Bay Area. Eat gourmet foods, shop local makers, drink wine and beer, and enjoy live music while taking in the stunning views. Tickets $5-$20pp. February 24-25, 11am to 5pm. 

COCKTAILS & CONVERSATION

Delve deep into the world of clay making with artist Ehren Tool at Walnut Creek’s Bedford Gallery. Sip a signature cocktail, enjoy light bites, and experience the latest exhibition California Clay. 5:30pm, February 29.

Coming up: Feel good, pop hit musical Mystic Pizza (through February 25); Journalist Michael Smerconish at Lesher Speaker Series (February 28); Grammy-nominated clarinetist-saxophonist Anat Cohen with The Tenet, a vibrant mix of New York jazz players (February 29). 

 

 

NOISE POP FESTIVAL

Hear the best in indie music at SF’s Noise Pop Festival, now in its 31st year. This multi-day, multi-venue festival includes headliners like Snail Mail, The Mountain Goats and many more. Get to know emerging artists while exploring the frontiers of contemporary music. February 22-March 3

MADONNA: THE CELEBRATION TOUR

Experience Madonna live at the Chase Center, honoring her four-decade reign as a pop legend. The Queen of Pop salutes her musical roots and the LGBTQ+ community, featuring a career-spanning setlist of hits. Catch her performances on February 27-28.
