Naming the Unnameable: New (and Ancient) Names for God
A Workshop by Matthew Fox
Hear Matthew Fox, world-renowned spiritual theologian, sacred activist and creator of the Cosmic Mass, as he explores questions raised in his latest book: "Naming the Unnameable: 89 Wonderful and Useful Names for God...Including the Unnameable God."
In this workshop, you will be challenged to ask yourself:
- What archetypes rising today allow you to access the Sacred?
- What names for the Divine can most readily stir you at this time in history to wake up, let go, give birth, and work generously, diligently, courageously for the survival of our species and of our planet?
- What links the wisdom of the young to the wisdom of the old and of our ancestors, while opening your heart and mind to serve future generations with joy and steadfastness?
- What archetypes most empower you to move from lack of energy to effective caring and action? From despair or cynicism to hope-filled service?
The workshop takes place in the Sanctuary, is open to everyone, and registration is not required. Admission is $25, payable at the door or in advance by clicking the "Buy Now" button at https://www.unityofwalnutcreek.org/naming-the-unnameable.
Matthew Fox will also be the guest speaker that morning at Unity's 9:30 and 11:30 services.
"Born in the wonderment of our earliest human ancestors, rooted in ancient Judeo-Christian tradition, supported by leading-edge science, and bearing witness for social, environmental, and gender justice." This is the work of Matthew Fox, Episcopal priest, author of 37 books, founder of the University of Creation Spirituality, and believer that “by reinventing work, education and worship we can bring about a non-violent revolution on our planet.”
If you've seen and heard him before, experience him again at Unity of Walnut Creek (https://www.unityofwalnutcreek.org/).
