Diablo Symphony presents first Digital Premiere - The Planets

Diablo Symphony presents its first Digital Premiere, featuring Holst's "The Planets", with introduction by conductor Matilda Hofman and "live chat" with the conductor and musicians.

The Diablo Symphony Orchestra presents its first Digital Premiere streaming event – featuring Gustav Holst’s “The Planets” – on Thursday, August 6 at 7 pm. This first in a series of digital concerts will stream on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP7I84Hqkiw (or through website www.diablosymphony.org by clicking anywhere on the picture under heading “DSO Digital Premier: The Planets”). This is the first release of the DSO’s 2019 performance of Holst’s seven movement orchestral suite invoking planets of the Solar System. The orchestra was joined by the local choir WomenSing in the suite’s final movement “Neptune, the Mystic” in performances held on February 22, 2019 at Rossmoor and February 24, 2019, at the Lesher Center for the Arts. Log in at 7 pm for an introduction by Music Director and Conductor Matilda Hofman, as well as “live chat” opportunities for questions from the audience. So come join in with that question about an instrument or musical work you’ve always wanted to know about! "The Planets", recorded during the orchestra's February 24, 2019 Lesher Center concert, begins at 7:30 pm. For more information, email inquiry may be sent to [email protected].
