In 2007 this extravagantly gifted Japanese artist won the Gold Medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition. She has appeared with the Tonhalle Orchestra with Rostropovich, NHK Orchestra under Ashkenazy and the Israel Philharmonic under Mehta. She has toured with the National Philharmonic of Russia, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, the Prague Philharmonic and the BBC Philharmonic, and she has appeared with all the leading orchestras of Japan.
